"Widely drunk in the former colonies as an all-day restorative tonic."
Originally the purview of ancient Asian Kings, Chai tea has been the regal drink of choice for five thousand years, and it is no wonder. Commonly brewed in milk and sweetened with cane sugar, Chai makes for an indulgent afternoon drink; silky and rich with a scintillating spice, ideal as an uplifting afternoon treat for the weary wanderer in need of restoration. The merits of Chai were well known by the royalty who drank it, and the tea has taken firm root as an Ayurvedic remedy said to promote balance between the sensual delight of life and the spiritual well-being of those who indulge its sweet and sensuous flavour.
